Psalms 136:13

to the one who divided ¹  the Red Sea ²  in two, ³  for his loyal love endures,

to him who divided the Red Sea asunder His love endures for ever.

To Him who divided the Red Sea asunder, For His lovingkindness is everlasting,

Give thanks to him who parted the Red Sea. His faithful love endures forever.

Split the Red Sea right in half, [His love never quits.]

To him who made a way through the Red Sea: for his mercy is unchanging for ever:

who divided the Red Sea in two, for his steadfast love endures forever;

To Him who divided the Red Sea in two, For His mercy endures forever;

to the one who divided ¹  the Red Sea ²  in two, ³  for his loyal love endures,

² tn Heb “Reed Sea” (also in v. 15). “Reed Sea” (or “Sea of Reeds”) is a more accurate rendering of the Hebrew expression יָם סוּף (yam suf), traditionally translated “Red Sea.” See the note on the term “Red Sea” in Exod 13:18.
