Psalms 106:14

In the wilderness they had an insatiable craving ¹  for meat; ²  they challenged God ³  in the desert.

In the desert they gave in to their craving; in the wasteland they put God to the test.

But craved intensely in the wilderness, And tempted God in the desert.

In the wilderness, their desires ran wild, testing God’s patience in that dry land.

They only cared about pleasing themselves in that desert, provoked God with their insistent demands.

They gave way to their evil desires in the waste land, and put God to the test in the dry places.

But they had a wanton craving in the wilderness, and put God to the test in the desert;

But lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, And tested God in the desert.

In the wilderness they had an insatiable craving ¹  for meat; ²  they challenged God ³  in the desert.

¹ sn They had an insatiable craving. This is described in Num 11:4-35.

² tn Heb “they craved [with] a craving.”
