Numbers 34:18

You must take one leader from every ¹  tribe to assist in allocating the land as an inheritance. ² 

And appoint one leader from each tribe to help assign the land.

"You shall take one leader of every tribe to apportion the land for inheritance.

Also enlist one leader from each tribe to help them with the task.

Assign one leader from each tribe to help them in distributing the land.

And you are to take one chief from every tribe to make the distribution of the land.

You shall take one leader of every tribe to apportion the land for inheritance.

"And you shall take one leader of every tribe to divide the land for the inheritance.

You must take one leader from every ¹  tribe to assist in allocating the land as an inheritance. ² 

¹ tn This sense is created by repetition: “one leader, one leader from the tribe.”

² tn The sentence simply uses לִנְחֹל (linkhol, “to divide, apportion”). It has been taken already to mean “allocate as an inheritance.” Here “assist” may be added since Joshua and Eleazar had the primary work.
