Those ¹  who passed by defamed him, shaking their heads

Those who passed by hurled insults at him, shaking their heads

And those passing by were hurling abuse at Him, wagging their heads

And the people passing by shouted abuse, shaking their heads in mockery.

People passing along the road jeered, shaking their heads in mock lament:

And those who went by said bitter words to him, shaking their heads and saying,

Those who passed by derided him, shaking their heads

And those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging their heads
