Luke 22:64

They ¹  blindfolded him and asked him repeatedly, ²  “Prophesy! Who hit you?” ³ 

They blindfolded him and demanded, "Prophesy! Who hit you?"

and they blindfolded Him and were asking Him, saying, "Prophesy, who is the one who hit You?"

They blindfolded him; then they hit him and asked, "Who hit you that time, you prophet?"

They put a blindfold on him and taunted, "Who hit you that time?"

And, covering his eyes, they said to him, Are you prophet enough to say who gave you that blow?

they also blindfolded him and kept asking him, "Prophesy! Who is it that struck you?"

And having blindfolded Him, they struck Him on the face and asked Him, saying, "Prophesy! Who is the one who struck You?"

They ¹  blindfolded him and asked him repeatedly, ²  “Prophesy! Who hit you?” ³ 

¹ tn Here καί (kai) has not been translated because of differences between Greek and English style.

² tn The verb ἐπηρώτων (ephrwtwn) has been translated as an iterative imperfect. The participle λέγοντες (legontes) is redundant in English and has not been translated here.

³ tn Grk “Who is the one who hit you?”

sn Who hit you? This is a variation of one of three ancient games that involved blindfolds.
