Luke 12:54

Jesus ¹  also said to the crowds, “When you see a cloud rising in the west, ²  you say at once, ‘A rainstorm ³  is coming,’ and it does.

He said to the crowd: "When you see a cloud rising in the west, immediately you say, ‘It’s going to rain,’ and it does.

And He was also saying to the crowds, "When you see a cloud rising in the west, immediately you say, ‘A shower is coming,’ and so it turns out.

Then Jesus turned to the crowd and said, "When you see clouds beginning to form in the west, you say, ‘Here comes a shower.’ And you are right.

Then he turned to the crowd: "When you see clouds coming in from the west, you say, 'Storm's coming'--and you're right.

Then he said to the people, When you see a cloud coming up in the west, straight away you say, There will be rain; and so it is.

He also said to the crowds, "When you see a cloud rising in the west, you immediately say, ‘It is going to rain’; and so it happens.

Then He also said to the multitudes, "Whenever you see a cloud rising out of the west, immediately you say, ‘A shower is coming’; and so it is.

¹ tn Grk “He”; the referent (Jesus) has been specified in the translation for clarity. Here καί (kai) has been translated as “also” and δέ (de) has not been translated.

² sn A cloud rising in the west refers to moisture coming from the Mediterranean Sea.

³ tn The term ὄμβρος (ombro") refers to heavy rain, such as in a thunderstorm (L&N 14.12).
