Leviticus 25:14

If you make a sale ¹  to your fellow citizen ²  or buy ³  from your fellow citizen, no one is to wrong his brother. ⁴ 

"‘If you sell land to one of your countrymen or buy any from him, do not take advantage of each other.

‘If you make a sale, moreover, to your friend or buy from your friend’s hand, you shall not wrong one another.

"When you make an agreement with a neighbor to buy or sell property, you must never take advantage of each other.

"If you sell or buy property from one of your countrymen, don't cheat him.

And in the business of trading goods for money, do no wrong to one another.

When you make a sale to your neighbor or buy from your neighbor, you shall not cheat one another.

‘And if you sell anything to your neighbor or buy from your neighbor’s hand, you shall not oppress one another.

If you make a sale ¹  to your fellow citizen ²  or buy ³  from your fellow citizen, no one is to wrong his brother. ⁴

³ tn The Hebrew infinitive absolute קָנֹה (qanoh, “buying”) substitutes for the finite verb here in sequence with the previous finite verb “sell” at the beginning of the verse (see GKC 345 §113.z).

⁴ tn Heb “do not oppress a man his brother.” Here “brother” does not refer only to a sibling, but to a fellow Israelite.
