Jude 1:19

These people are divisive, ¹  worldly, ²  devoid of the Spirit. ³ 

These are the men who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.

These are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit.

Now they are here, and they are the ones who are creating divisions among you. They live by natural instinct because they do not have God’s Spirit living in them.

These are the ones who split churches, thinking only of themselves. There's nothing to them, no sign of the Spirit!

These are the men who make divisions, natural men, not having the Spirit.

It is these worldly people, devoid of the Spirit, who are causing divisions.

These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit.

These people are divisive, ¹  worldly, ²  devoid of the Spirit. ³ 

¹ tn Grk “these are the ones who cause divisions.”

² tn Or “natural,” that is, living on the level of instincts, not on a spiritual level (the same word occurs in 1 Cor 2:14 as a description of nonbelievers).

³ tn Grk “not having [the] Spirit.”

sn The phrase devoid of the Spirit may well indicate Jude’s and Peter’s assessment of the spiritual status of the false teachers. Those who do not have the Spirit are clearly not saved.
