John 19:10

So Pilate said, ¹  “Do you refuse to speak to me? Don’t you know I have the authority ²  to release you, and to crucify you?” ³ 

"Do you refuse to speak to me?" Pilate said. "Don’t you realise I have power either to free you or to crucify you?"

So Pilate *said to Him, "You do not speak to me? Do You not know that I have authority to release You, and I have authority to crucify You?"

"You won’t talk to me?" Pilate demanded. "Don’t you realize that I have the power to release you or to crucify you?"

Pilate said, "You won't talk? Don't you know that I have the authority to pardon you, and the authority to--crucify you?"

Then Pilate said to him, You say nothing to me? is it not clear to you that I have power to let you go free and power to put you to death on the cross?

Pilate therefore said to him, "Do you refuse to speak to me? Do you not know that I have power to release you, and power to crucify you?"

Then Pilate said to Him, "Are You not speaking to me? Do You not know that I have power to crucify You, and power to release You?"

So Pilate said, ¹  “Do you refuse to speak to me? Don’t you know I have the authority ²  to release you, and to crucify you?” ³ 

¹ tn Grk “said to him.” The words “to him” are not translated because they are unnecessary in contemporary English style.

² tn Or “the power.”

³ tn Grk “know that I have the authority to release you and the authority to crucify you.” Repetition of “the authority” is unnecessarily redundant English style.
