Galatians 5:8

This persuasion ¹  does not come from the one who calls you!

That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you.

This persuasion did not come from Him who calls you.

It certainly isn’t God, for he is the one who called you to freedom.

This detour doesn't come from the One who called you into the race in the first place.

This ready belief did not come from him who had made you his.

Such persuasion does not come from the one who calls you.

This persuasion ¹  does not come from the one who calls you!

¹ tn Grk “The persuasion,” referring to their being led away from the truth (v. 7). There is a play on words here that is not easily reproducible in the English translation: The words translated “obey” (πείθεσθαι, peiqesqai) in v. 7 and “persuasion” (πεισμονή, peismonh) in v. 8 come from the same root in Greek.
