Deuteronomy 2:27

“Let me pass through your land; I will keep strictly to the roadway. ¹  I will not turn aside to the right or the left.

"Let us pass through your country. We will stay on the main road; we will not turn aside to the right or to the left.

‘Let me pass through your land, I will travel only on the highway; I will not turn aside to the right or to the left.

‘Let us pass through your land. We will stay on the main road and won’t turn off into the fields on either side.

"Let me cross through your land on the highway. I'll stay right on the highway; I won't trespass right or left.

Let me go through your land: I will keep to the highway, not turning to the right or to the left;

"If you let me pass through your land, I will travel only along the road; I will turn aside neither to the right nor to the left.

‘Let me pass through your land; I will keep strictly to the road, and I will turn neither to the right nor to the left.

“Let me pass through your land; I will keep strictly to the roadway. ¹  I will not turn aside to the right or the left.

¹ tn Heb “in the way in the way” (בַּדֶּרֶךְ בַּדֶּרֶךְ, baderekh baderekh). The repetition lays great stress on the idea of resolute determination to stick to the path. IBHS 116 §7.2.3c.
