2 Samuel 3:25

You know Abner the son of Ner! Surely he came here to spy on you and to determine when you leave and when you return ¹  and to discover everything that you are doing!”

You know Abner son of Ner; he came to deceive you and observe your movements and find out everything you are doing."

"You know Abner the son of Ner, that he came to deceive you and to learn of your going out and coming in and to find out all that you are doing."

You know perfectly well that he came to spy on you and to discover everything you are doing!"

You know Abner son of Ner better than that. This was no friendly visit. He was here to spy on you, figure out your comings and goings, find out what you're up to."

Is it not clear to you that Abner, the son of Ner, came with deceit to get knowledge of your going out and your coming in and of all you are doing?

You know that Abner son of Ner came to deceive you, and to learn your comings and goings and to learn all that you are doing."

"Surely you realize that Abner the son of Ner came to deceive you, to know your going out and your coming in, and to know all that you are doing."

You know Abner the son of Ner! Surely he came here to spy on you and to determine when you leave and when you return ¹  and to discover everything that you are doing!”

¹ tn Heb “your going out and your coming in.” The expression is a merism. It specifically mentions the polar extremities of the actions but includes all activity in between the extremities as well, thus encompassing the entirety of one’s activities.
