1 Kings 1:50

Adonijah feared Solomon, so he got up and went and grabbed hold of the horns of the altar. ¹ 

But Adonijah, in fear of Solomon, went and took hold of the horns of the altar.

And Adonijah was afraid of Solomon, and he arose, went and took hold of the horns of the altar.

Adonijah himself was afraid of Solomon, so he rushed to the sacred tent and caught hold of the horns of the altar.

But Adonijah himself, afraid for his life because of Solomon, fled to the sanctuary and grabbed the horns of the Altar.

And Adonijah himself was full of fear because of Solomon; and he got up and went to the altar, and put his hands on its horns.

Adonijah, fearing Solomon, got up and went to grasp the horns of the altar.

Now Adonijah was afraid of Solomon; so he arose, and went and took hold of the horns of the altar.

Adonijah feared Solomon, so he got up and went and grabbed hold of the horns of the altar. ¹ 

¹ sn Grabbed hold of the horns of the altar. The “horns” of the altar were the horn-shaped projections on the four corners of the altar (see Exod 27:2). By going to the holy place and grabbing hold of the horns of the altar, Adonijah was seeking asylum from Solomon.
