1 Chronicles 11:17

David was thirsty and said, “How I wish someone would give me some water to drink ¹  from the cistern in Bethlehem near the city gate!”

David longed for water and said, "Oh, that someone would get me a drink of water from the well near the gate of Bethlehem!"

David had a craving and said, "Oh that someone would give me water to drink from the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!"

David remarked longingly to his men, "Oh, how I would love some of that good water from the well in Bethlehem, the one by the gate."

David had a sudden craving: "What I wouldn't give for a drink of water from the well in Bethlehem, the one at the gate!"

And David, moved by a strong desire, said, If only someone would give me a drink of the water from the water-hole of Beth-lehem by the doorway into the town!

David said longingly, "O that someone would give me water to drink from the well of Bethlehem that is by the gate!"

And David said with longing, "Oh, that someone would give me a drink of water from the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!"

David was thirsty and said, “How I wish someone would give me some water to drink ¹  from the cistern in Bethlehem near the city gate!”
