Luke 4:37

So ¹  the news ²  about him spread into all areas of the region. ³ 

And the news about him spread throughout the surrounding area.

And the report about Him was spreading into every locality in the surrounding district.

The story of what he had done spread like wildfire throughout the whole region.

Jesus was the talk of the town.

And there was much talk about him in all the places round about.

And a report about him began to reach every place in the region.

And the report about Him went out into every place in the surrounding region.

So ¹  the news ²  about him spread into all areas of the region. ³ 

¹ tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “so” to indicate resultative nature of the action.

² tn That is, “information concerning a person or an event – ‘report, news, word, information’” (L&N 33.211).

³ sn Given Luke 4:31, the phrase the region is a reference to Galilee.
