Luke 22:66

When day came, the council of the elders of the people gathered together, both the chief priests and the experts in the law. ¹  Then ²  they led Jesus ³  away to their council ⁴ 

At daybreak the council of the elders of the people, both the chief priests and teachers of the law, met together, and Jesus was led before them.

When it was day, the Council of elders of the people assembled, both chief priests and scribes, and they led Him away to their council chamber, saying,

At daybreak all the leaders of the people assembled, including the leading priests and the teachers of religious law. Jesus was led before this high council,

When it was morning, the religious leaders of the people and the high priests and scholars all got together and brought him before their High Council.

And when it was day, the rulers of the people came together, with the chief priests and the scribes, and they took him before their Sanhedrin, saying,

When day came, the assembly of the elders of the people, both chief priests and scribes, gathered together, and they brought him to their council.

As soon as it was day, the elders of the people, both chief priests and scribes, came together and led Him into their council, saying,

When day came, the council of the elders of the people gathered together, both the chief priests and the experts in the law. ¹  Then ²  they led Jesus ³  away to their council ⁴

² tn Here καί (kai) has been translated as “then” to indicate the implied sequence of events within the narrative.

⁴ sn Their council is probably a reference to the Jewish Sanhedrin, the council of seventy leaders.
