Luke 17:14

When ¹  he saw them he said, “Go ²  and show yourselves to the priests.” ³  And ⁴  as they went along, they were cleansed.

When he saw them, he said, "Go, show yourselves to the priests." And as they went, they were cleansed.

When He saw them, He said to them, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." And as they were going, they were cleansed.

He looked at them and said, "Go show yourselves to the priests." And as they went, their leprosy disappeared.

Taking a good look at them, he said, "Go, show yourselves to the priests." They went, and while still on their way, became clean.

And when he saw them he said, Go, and let the priests see you. And, while they were going, they were made clean.

When he saw them, he said to them, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." And as they went, they were made clean.

So when He saw them , He said to them, "Go, show yourselves to the priests." And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed.

When ¹  he saw them he said, “Go ²  and show yourselves to the priests.” ³  And ⁴  as they went along, they were cleansed.

¹ tn Καί (kai) has not been translated because of differences between Greek and English style.

² tn The participle πορευθέντες (poreuqente") is a good example of an adverbial participle of attendant circumstance. As such, it picks up the force of an imperative from the verb to which it is related (ExSyn 640-45).

³ sn These are the instructions of what to do with a healing (Lev 13:19; 14:1-11; Luke 5:14).

⁴ tn Grk “And it happened that as.” The introductory phrase ἐγένετο (egeneto, “it happened that”), common in Luke (69 times) and Acts (54 times), is redundant in contemporary English and has not been translated.
