Joshua 2:24

They told Joshua, “Surely the Lord is handing over all the land to us! ¹  All who live in the land are cringing before us!” ² 

They said to Joshua, "The LORD has surely given the whole land into our hands; all the people are melting in fear because of us."

They said to Joshua, "Surely the LORD has given all the land into our hands; moreover, all the inhabitants of the land have melted away before us."

"The LORD will certainly give us the whole land," they said, "for all the people in the land are terrified of us."

They told Joshua, "Yes! GOD has given the whole country to us. Everybody there is in a state of panic because of us."

And they said to Joshua, Truly, the Lord has given all the land into our hands; and all the people of the land have become like water because of us.

They said to Joshua, "Truly the LORD has given all the land into our hands; moreover all the inhabitants of the land melt in fear before us."

And they said to Joshua, "Truly the LORD has delivered all the land into our hands, for indeed all the inhabitants of the country are fainthearted because of us."

They told Joshua, “Surely the Lord is handing over all the land to us! ¹  All who live in the land are cringing before us!” ² 

¹ tn Heb “Surely the Lord has given into our hand all the land.” The report by the spies uses the Hebrew perfect, suggesting certitude.

² tn Heb “are melting away because of us.”
