Judges 8:8

He went up from there to Penuel and made the same request. ¹  The men of Penuel responded the same way the men of Succoth had. ² 

From there he went up to Peniel and made the same request of them, but they answered as the men of Succoth had.

He went up from there to Penuel and spoke similarly to them; and the men of Penuel answered him just as the men of Succoth had answered.

From there Gideon went up to Peniel and asked for food, but he got the same answer.

He went from there to Peniel and made the same request. The men of Peniel, like the men of Succoth, also refused.

So he went up from there to Penuel and made the same request to the men of Penuel; but they gave him the same answer as the men of Succoth had given.
