NIV ©

and put everything under his feet." In putting everything under him, God left nothing that is not subject to him. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to him.

NASB ©

YOU HAVE PUT ALL THINGS IN SUBJECTION UNDER HIS FEET." For in subjecting all things to him, He left nothing that is not subject to him. But now we do not yet see all things subjected to him.

NLT ©

You gave him authority over all things." Now when it says "all things," it means nothing is left out. But we have not yet seen all of this happen.

Then you put them in charge of your entire handcrafted world. When God put them in charge of everything, nothing was excluded. But we don't see it yet, don't see everything under human jurisdiction.

BBE ©

NRSV ©

subjecting all things under their feet." Now in subjecting all things to them, God left nothing outside their control. As it is, we do not yet see everything in subjection to them,

NKJV ©

You have put all things in subjection under his feet." For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothing that is not put under him. But now we do not yet see all things put under him.

You put all things under his control. 1  For when he put all things under his control, he left nothing outside of his control. At present we do not yet see all things under his control, 2

NET © Notes

tn Grk “you subjected all things under his feet.”

sn A quotation from Ps 8:4-6.

sn The expression all things under his control occurs three times in 2:8. The latter two occurrences are not exactly identical to the Greek text of Ps 8:6 quoted at the beginning of the verse, but have been adapted by the writer of Hebrews to fit his argument.
