Ezekiel 16:29

Then you multiplied your promiscuity to the land of merchants, Babylonia, ¹  but you were not satisfied there either.

Then you increased your promiscuity to include Babylonia, a land of merchants, but even with this you were not satisfied.

"You also multiplied your harlotry with the land of merchants, Chaldea, yet even with this you were not satisfied."’"

You added to your lovers by embracing that great merchant land of Babylonia ––but you still weren’t satisfied!

You took on the Babylonians, a country of businessmen, and still you weren't satisfied.

And you went on in your loose ways, even as far as the land of Chaldaea, and still you had not enough.

You multiplied your whoring with Chaldea, the land of merchants; and even with this you were not satisfied.

"Moreover you multiplied your acts of harlotry as far as the land of the trader, Chaldea; and even then you were not satisfied.

Then you multiplied your promiscuity to the land of merchants, Babylonia, ¹  but you were not satisfied there either.

¹ tn Heb “Chaldea.” The name of the tribal group ruling Babylon (“Chaldeans”) and the territory from which they originated (“Chaldea”) is used as metonymy for the whole empire of Babylon.
