Psalms 76:3

There he shattered the arrows, ¹  the shield, the sword, and the rest of the weapons of war. ²  (Selah)

There he broke the flashing arrows, the shields and the swords, the weapons of war. Selah

There He broke the flaming arrows, The shield and the sword and the weapons of war. Selah.

There he breaks the arrows of the enemy, the shields and swords and weapons of his foes. Interlude

That's where, using arrows for kindling, he made a bonfire of weapons of war.

There were the arrows of the bow broken, there he put an end to body-cover, sword, and fight. (Selah.)

¹ tn Heb “flames of the bow,” i.e., arrows.

² tn Heb “shield and sword and battle.” “Battle” probably here stands by metonymy for the weapons of war in general.

sn This verse may allude to the miraculous defeat of the Assyrians in 701 b.c. (see Isa 36-37).
