Psalms 119:42

Then I will have a reply for the one who insults me, ¹  for I trust in your word.

then I will answer the one who taunts me, for I trust in your word.

So I will have an answer for him who reproaches me, For I trust in Your word.

Then I will have an answer for those who taunt me, for I trust in your word.

Then I'll be able to stand up to mockery because I trusted your Word.

So that I may have an answer for the man who would put me to shame; for I have faith in your word.

Then I shall have an answer for those who taunt me, for I trust in your word.

¹ tn Heb “and I will answer [the] one who insults me a word.” The prefixed verbal form with vav (ו) conjunctive indicates purpose/result after the jussive (see v. 41).
