Proverbs 6:34

for jealousy kindles ¹  a husband’s ²  rage, and he will not show mercy ³  when he takes revenge.

for jealousy arouses a husband’s fury, and he will show no mercy when he takes revenge.

For jealousy enrages a man, And he will not spare in the day of vengeance.

For the woman’s husband will be furious in his jealousy, and he will have no mercy in his day of vengeance.

For jealousy detonates rage in a cheated husband; wild for revenge, he won't make allowances.

For bitter is the wrath of an angry husband; in the day of punishment he will have no mercy.

³ tn The verb חָמַל (khamal) means “to show mercy; to show compassion; to show pity,” usually with the outcome of sparing or delivering someone. The idea here is that the husband will not spare the guilty man any of the punishment (cf. NRSV “he shows no restraint”).
