Numbers 10:7

But when you assemble the community, ¹  you must blow, but you must not sound an alarm. ² 

To gather the assembly, blow the trumpets, but not with the same signal.

"When convening the assembly, however, you shall blow without sounding an alarm.

But when you call the people to an assembly, blow the trumpets using a different signal.

The bugle call that gathers the assembly is different from the signal to march.

But when all the people are to come together, the horn is to be sounded but not loudly.

But when the assembly is to be gathered, you shall blow, but you shall not sound an alarm.

"And when the assembly is to be gathered together, you shall blow, but not sound the advance.

But when you assemble the community, ¹  you must blow, but you must not sound an alarm. ² 

¹ tn There is no expressed subject in the initial temporal clause. It simply says, “and in the assembling the assembly.” But since the next verb is the second person of the verb, that may be taken as the intended subject here.

² sn The signal for moving camp was apparently different in tone and may have been sharper notes or a different sequence. It was in some way distinguishable.
