Matthew 19:13

Then little children were brought to him for him to lay his hands on them and pray. ¹  But the disciples scolded those who brought them. ² 

Then little children were brought to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked those who brought them.

Then some children were brought to Him so that He might lay His hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them.

Some children were brought to Jesus so he could lay his hands on them and pray for them. The disciples told them not to bother him.

One day children were brought to Jesus in the hope that he would lay hands on them and pray over them. The disciples shooed them off.

Then some people took little children to him, so that he might put his hands on them in blessing: and the disciples said sharp words to them.

Then little children were being brought to him in order that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples spoke sternly to those who brought them;

Then little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them.

Then little children were brought to him for him to lay his hands on them and pray. ¹  But the disciples scolded those who brought them. ² 

¹ tn Grk “so that he would lay his hands on them and pray.”

² tn Grk “the disciples scolded them.” In the translation the referent has been specified as “those who brought them,” since otherwise the statement could be understood to mean that the disciples scolded the children rather than their parents who brought them.
