Mark 9:6

(For they were afraid, and he did not know what to say.) ¹ 

(He did not know what to say, they were so frightened.)

For he did not know what to answer; for they became terrified.

He didn’t really know what to say, for they were all terribly afraid.

He blurted this out without thinking, stunned as they all were by what they were seeing.

Because he was not certain what to say, for they were in great fear.

He did not know what to say, for they were terrified.
