Mark 9:26

It shrieked, threw him into terrible convulsions, and came out. The boy ¹  looked so much like a corpse that many said, “He is dead!”

The spirit shrieked, convulsed him violently and came out. The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said, "He’s dead."

After crying out and throwing him into terrible convulsions, it came out; and the boy became so much like a corpse that most of them said, "He is dead!"

Then the spirit screamed and threw the boy into another violent convulsion and left him. The boy lay there motionless, and he appeared to be dead. A murmur ran through the crowd, "He’s dead."

Screaming, and with much thrashing about, it left. The boy was pale as a corpse, so people started saying, "He's dead."

And after crying out and shaking him violently, it came out: and the child became like one dead; so that most of them said, He is dead.

Then the spirit cried out, convulsed him greatly, and came out of him. And he became as one dead, so that many said, "He is dead."

It shrieked, threw him into terrible convulsions, and came out. The boy ¹  looked so much like a corpse that many said, “He is dead!”

¹ tn Grk “he”; the referent (the boy) has been specified in the translation for clarity. Because of the length and complexity of the Greek sentence, a new sentence was started here in the translation.
