Mark 1:23

Just then there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit, ¹  and he cried out, ² 

Just then a man in their synagogue who was possessed by an evil spirit cried out,

A man possessed by an evil spirit was in the synagogue,

Suddenly, while still in the meeting place, he was interrupted by a man who was deeply disturbed and yelling out,

Now there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit. And he cried out,

¹ sn Unclean spirit refers to an evil spirit.

² tn Grk “he cried out, saying.” The participle λέγων (legwn) is redundant in contemporary English and has not been translated.
