Panic and pitfall ¹  have come upon us, devastation and destruction. ² 

We have suffered terror and pitfalls, ruin and destruction."

Panic and pitfall have befallen us, Devastation and destruction;

We are filled with fear, for we are trapped, desolate, and ruined."

We've been to hell and back. We've nowhere to turn, nowhere to go.

Fear and deep waters have come on us, wasting and destruction.
