John 5:8

Jesus said to him, “Stand up! Pick up your mat ¹  and walk.”

Then Jesus said to him, "Get up! Pick up your mat and walk."

Jesus *said to him, "Get up, pick up your pallet and walk."

Jesus told him, "Stand up, pick up your sleeping mat, and walk!"

Jesus said, "Get up, take your bedroll, start walking."

Jesus said to him, Get up, take your bed and go.

Jesus said to him, "Stand up, take your mat and walk."

Jesus said to him, "Rise, take up your bed and walk."

Jesus said to him, “Stand up! Pick up your mat ¹  and walk.”

¹ tn Or “pallet,” “mattress,” “cot,” or “stretcher.” Some of these items, however, are rather substantial (e.g., “mattress”) and would probably give the modern English reader a false impression.
