John 11:36

Thus the people who had come to mourn ¹  said, “Look how much he loved him!”

Then the Jews said, "See how he loved him!"

So the Jews were saying, "See how He loved him!"

The people who were standing nearby said, "See how much he loved him."

The Jews said, "Look how deeply he loved him."

So the Jews said, See how dear he was to him!

So the Jews said, "See how he loved him!"

Then the Jews said, "See how He loved him!"

Thus the people who had come to mourn ¹  said, “Look how much he loved him!”

¹ tn Or “the Judeans”; Grk “the Jews.” Here the phrase refers to the friends, acquaintances, and relatives of Lazarus or his sisters who had come to mourn, since the Jewish religious authorities are specifically mentioned as a separate group in John 11:46-47.
