Job 32:11

Look, I waited for you to speak; ¹  I listened closely to your wise thoughts, ² while you were searching for words.

I waited while you spoke, I listened to your reasoning; while you were searching for words,

"Behold, I waited for your words, I listened to your reasonings, While you pondered what to say.

"I have waited all this time, listening very carefully to your arguments, listening to you grope for words.

"I hung on your words while you spoke, listened carefully to your arguments. While you searched for the right words,

I was waiting for your words, I was giving ear to your wise sayings; while you were searching out what to say,

"See, I waited for your words, I listened for your wise sayings, while you searched out what to say.

Indeed I waited for your words, I listened to your reasonings, while you searched out what to say.

Look, I waited for you to speak; ¹  I listened closely to your wise thoughts, ² while you were searching for words.

² tn The word means “understanding.” It refers to the faculty of perception and comprehension; but it also can refer to what that produces, especially when it is in the plural (see Ps 49:4). See R. Gordis, Job, 368. Others translate it “reasonings,” “arguments,” etc.
