Judges 14:11

When the Philistines saw he had no attendants, they gave him thirty groomsmen who kept him company. ¹ 

When he appeared, he was given thirty companions.

When they saw him, they brought thirty companions to be with him.

Thirty young men from the town were invited to be his companions.

Because the people were wary of him, they arranged for thirty friends to mingle with him.

And he took thirty friends, and they were with him.

When the people saw him, they brought thirty companions to be with him.

And it happened, when they saw him, that they brought thirty companions to be with him.

When the Philistines saw he had no attendants, they gave him thirty groomsmen who kept him company. ¹ 

¹ tn Heb “When they saw him, they gave him thirty companions and they were with him.” Instead of כִּרְאוֹתָם (kir’otam, “when they saw”) some ancient witnesses (e.g., some mss of the LXX) assume the reading בְּיִרְאָתָם (bÿyir’atam, “because they feared”).
