In that day the LORD will punish the powers in the heavens above and the kings on the earth below.
So it will happen in that day, That the LORD will punish the host of heaven on high, And the kings of the earth on earth.
In that day the LORD will punish the fallen angels in the heavens and the proud rulers of the nations on earth.
That's when GOD will call on the carpet rebel powers in the skies and Rebel kings on earth.
And in that day the Lord will send punishment on the army of the high ones on high, and on the kings of the earth on the earth.
On that day the LORD will punish the host of heaven in heaven, and on earth the kings of the earth.
It shall come to pass in that day That the LORD will punish on high the host of exalted ones, And on the earth the kings of the earth.

1 tn Or “in that day” (so KJV). The verb that introduces this verse serves as a discourse particle and is untranslated; see note on “in the future” in 2:2.
2 tn Heb “visit [in judgment].”
3 tn Heb “the host of the height in the height.” The “host of the height/heaven” refers to the heavenly luminaries (stars and planets, see, among others, Deut 4:19; 17:3; 2 Kgs 17:16; 21:3, 5; 23:4-5; 2 Chr 33:3, 5) that populate the divine/heavenly assembly in mythological and prescientific Israelite thought (see Job 38:7; Isa 14:13).
