Genesis 34:8

But Hamor made this appeal to them: “My son Shechem is in love with your daughter. ¹  Please give her to him as his wife.

But Hamor said to them, "My son Shechem has his heart set on your daughter. Please give her to him as his wife.

But Hamor spoke with them, saying, "The soul of my son Shechem longs for your daughter; please give her to him in marriage.

Hamor told Jacob and his sons, "My son Shechem is truly in love with your daughter, and he longs for her to be his wife. Please let him marry her.

Hamor spoke with Jacob and his sons, "My son Shechem is head over heels in love with your daughter--give her to him as his wife.

But Hamor said to them, Shechem, my son, is full of desire for your daughter: will you then give her to him for a wife?

But Hamor made this appeal to them: “My son Shechem is in love with your daughter. ¹  Please give her to him as his wife.

¹ tn Heb “Shechem my son, his soul is attached to your daughter.” The verb means “to love” in the sense of being emotionally attached to or drawn to someone. This is a slightly different way of saying what was reported earlier (v. 3). However, there is no mention here of the offense. Even though Hamor is speaking to Dinah’s brothers, he refers to her as their daughter (see v. 17).
