Exodus 29:24

You are to put all these ¹  in Aaron’s hands ²  and in his sons’ hands, and you are to wave them as a wave offering ³  before the Lord.

Put all these in the hands of Aaron and his sons and wave them before the LORD as a wave offering.

and you shall put all these in the hands of Aaron and in the hands of his sons, and shall wave them as a wave offering before the LORD.

Put all these in the hands of Aaron and his sons to be lifted up as a special gift to the LORD.

"Place all of these in the open hands of Aaron and his sons who will wave them before GOD, a Wave-Offering.

And put them all on the hands of Aaron and of his sons, to be waved for a wave offering before the Lord.

and you shall place all these on the palms of Aaron and on the palms of his sons, and raise them as an elevation offering before the LORD.

³ tn The “wave offering” is תְּנוּפָה (tÿnufah); it is, of course, cognate with the verb, but an adverbial accusative rather than the direct object. In Lev 23 this seems to be a sacrificial gesture of things that are for the priests – but they present them first to Yahweh and then receive them back from him. So the waving is not side to side, but forward to Yahweh and then back to the priest. Here it is just an induction into that routine, since this is the ordination of the priests and the gifts are not yet theirs. So this will all be burned on the altar.
