I grind them as fine as the dust of the ground; I crush them and stomp on them like clay ¹  in the streets.

I beat them as fine as the dust of the earth; I pounded and trampled them like mud in the streets.

"Then I pulverized them as the dust of the earth; I crushed and stamped them as the mire of the streets.
