1 Corinthians 5:6

Your boasting is not good. Don’t you know that a little yeast ¹  affects ²  the whole batch of dough?

How terrible that you should boast about your spirituality, and yet you let this sort of thing go on. Don’t you realize that if even one person is allowed to go on sinning, soon all will be affected?

Your flip and callous arrogance in these things bothers me. You pass it off as a small thing, but it's anything but that. Yeast, too, is a "small thing," but it works its way through a whole batch of bread dough pretty fast.

This pride of yours is not good. Do you not see that a little leaven makes a change in all the mass?

Your boasting is not a good thing. Do you not know that a little yeast leavens the whole batch of dough?

Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?
