Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.

my face is reddened ¹  because of weeping, ²  and on my eyelids there is a deep darkness, ³ 

(19:2) Joab was told, “The king is weeping and mourning over Absalom.”

Look, ambassadors ¹  cry out in the streets; messengers sent to make peace ²  weep bitterly.

Jerusalem will bring me joy, and my people will bring me happiness. ¹  The sound of weeping or cries of sorrow will never be heard in her again.

When Jesus saw her weeping, and the people ¹  who had come with her weeping, he was intensely moved ²  in spirit and greatly distressed. ³ 

“‘Do not weep for the king who was killed. Do not grieve for him. But weep mournfully for the king who has gone into exile. For he will never return to see his native land again. ¹ 

The Lord says, “A sound is heard in Ramah, ¹  a sound of crying in bitter grief. It is the sound of Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because her children are gone.” ² 

In their streets they wear sackcloth; on their roofs and in their town squares all of them wail, they fall down weeping.

but the sons of the kingdom will be thrown out into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” ¹ 

and will cut him in two, ¹  and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Then ¹  the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn for her because no one buys their cargo ²  any longer –
