Say to them, ‘Throughout your generations, 1 if any man from all your descendants approaches the holy offerings which the Israelites consecrate 2 to the Lord while he is impure, 3 that person must be cut off from before me. 4 I am the Lord.
On the other hand, you may slaughter and eat meat as you please when the Lord your God blesses you 1 in all your villages. 2 Both the ritually pure and impure may eat it, whether it is a gazelle or an ibex.
He said to me, ‘Look, you will conceive and have a son. 1 So now, do not drink wine or beer and do not eat any food that will make you ritually unclean. 2 For the child will be dedicated 3 to God from birth till the day he dies.’”
Everyone shares the same fate 1 – the righteous and the wicked, the good and the bad, 2 the ceremonially clean and unclean, those who offer sacrifices and those who do not. What happens to the good person, also happens to the sinner; 3 what happens to those who make vows, also happens to those who are afraid to make vows.
And those men said to him, “We are ceremonially defiled by the dead body of a man; why are we kept back from offering the Lord’s offering at its appointed time among the Israelites?”

for the people who were in the land before you have done all these abominations, 1 and the land has become unclean.
But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these things defile a person.
And they saw that some of Jesus’ disciples ate their bread with unclean hands, that is, unwashed.
