if ¹  I have covered my transgressions as men do, ²  by hiding ³  iniquity in my heart, ⁴ 

For I am aware of ¹  my rebellious acts; I am forever conscious of my sin. ² 

Our record of sins overwhelms me, ¹  but you forgive ²  our acts of rebellion.

For you are aware of our many rebellious deeds, ¹  and our sins testify against us; indeed, we are aware of our rebellious deeds; we know our sins all too well. ² 

If you sin, how does it affect God? ¹  If your transgressions are many, what does it do to him? ² 

then he reveals ¹  to them what they have done, ²  and their transgressions, that they were behaving proudly.

Deliver me from all my sins of rebellion! Do not make me the object of fools’ insults!

As far as the eastern horizon ¹  is from the west, ²  so he removes the guilt of our rebellious actions ³  from us.

According to their uncleanness and rebellion I have dealt with them, and I hid my face from them.

I, I am the one who blots out your rebellious deeds for my sake; your sins I do not remember.

The one who covers ¹  his transgressions will not prosper, ²  but whoever confesses them and forsakes them will find mercy. ³ 

Do not hold against me ¹  the sins of my youth ²  or my rebellious acts! Because you are faithful to me, extend to me your favor, O Lord! ³ 

I remove the guilt of your rebellious deeds as if they were a cloud, the guilt of your sins as if they were a cloud. ¹  Come back to me, for I protect ²  you.”

None of the sins he has committed will be held ¹  against him; because of the righteousness he has done, he will live.

Because he considered ¹  and turned from all the sins he had done, he will surely live; he will not die.

Why then was the law given? ¹  It was added ²  because of transgressions, ³  until the arrival of the descendant ⁴  to whom the promise had been made. It was administered ⁵  through angels by an intermediary. ⁶ 

Hatred ¹  stirs up dissension, but love covers all transgressions. ² 

And even though you were dead in your ¹  transgressions and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, he nevertheless ²  made you alive with him, having forgiven all your transgressions.

Then I confessed my sin; I no longer covered up my wrongdoing. I said, “I will confess ¹  my rebellious acts to the Lord.” And then you forgave my sins. ²  (Selah)

He was wounded because of ¹  our rebellious deeds, crushed because of our sins; he endured punishment that made us well; ²  because of his wounds we have been healed. ³
