when the waters become hard ¹  like stone, when the surface of the deep is frozen solid?

The waters completely overwhelmed ¹  the earth, and the ark floated ²  on the surface of the waters.

They will die of deadly diseases. No one will mourn for them. They will not be buried. Their dead bodies will lie like manure spread on the ground. They will be killed in war or die of starvation. Their corpses will be food for the birds and wild animals.

While I was contemplating all this, ¹  a male goat ²  was coming from the west over the surface of all the land ³  without touching the ground. This goat had a conspicuous horn ⁴  between its eyes.
