¹ “Whoever strikes someone ²  so that he dies ³  must surely be put to death. ⁴ 

“Whoever strikes ¹  his father or his mother must surely be put to death.

He strikes them for their wickedness, ¹  in a place where people can see, ² 

With his hands ¹  he covers ²  the lightning, and directs it against its target.

One of the members of the prophetic guild, speaking with divine authority, ordered his companion, “Wound me!” ¹  But the man refused to wound him.

The Lord will strike Egypt, striking and then healing them. They will turn to the Lord and he will listen to their prayers ¹  and heal them.

At that ¹  the high priest Ananias ordered those standing near ²  Paul ³  to strike ⁴  him on the mouth.

For the Lord will pass through to strike Egypt, and when he sees ¹  the blood on the top of the doorframe and the two side posts, then the Lord will pass over the door, and he will not permit the destroyer ²  to enter your houses to strike you. ³

When ¹  those who were around him saw what was about to happen, they said, “Lord, should ²  we use our swords?” ³ 

The Lord’s shout strikes ¹  with flaming fire. ² 

¹ The Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Extend your staff and strike the dust of the ground, and it will become ²  gnats ³  throughout all the land of Egypt.’”

He found another man and said, “Wound me!” So the man wounded him severely. ¹ 

Then Elisha ¹  said, “Take the arrows,” and he did so. ²  He told the king of Israel, “Strike the ground!” He struck the ground three times and stopped.

Then Jesus said to them, “This night you will all fall away because of me, for it is written: ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’ ¹ 

Then ¹  Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away, for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’ ² 

In that day,” says the Lord, “I will strike every horse with confusion and its rider with madness. I will pay close attention to the house of Judah, but will strike all the horses ¹  of the nations ²  with blindness.

“Bring trouble ¹  to the Midianites, and destroy them,

David went on to say, “As the Lord lives, the Lord himself will strike him down. Either his day will come and he will die, or he will go down into battle and be swept away.
