You stretched out your right hand, the earth swallowed them. ¹ 

he alone spreads out the heavens, and treads ¹  on the waves of the sea; ² 

He covers himself with light as if it were a garment. He stretches out the skies like a tent curtain,

Who set its measurements – if ¹  you know – or who stretched a measuring line across it?

Then he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out and it was restored, ¹  as healthy as the other.

“As for you, ¹  if you prove faithful, ²  and if ³  you stretch out your hands toward him, ⁴ 

This is the plan I have devised for the whole earth; my hand is ready to strike all the nations.” ¹ 

Then I looked and realized a hand was stretched out to me, and in it was a written scroll.

He will extend his power ¹  against other lands; the land of Egypt will not escape.

The Lord told Joshua, “Hold out toward Ai the curved sword in your hand, for I am handing the city ¹  over to you.” So Joshua held out toward Ai the curved sword in his hand.

for he stretches out his hand against God, ¹  and vaunts himself ²  against the Almighty,

They come with red cloth ¹  from Egypt, Ethiopia ²  voluntarily offers tribute ³  to God.

After looking around ¹  at them in anger, grieved by the hardness of their hearts, ²  he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was restored. ³ 

I made the earth, I created the people who live ¹  on it. It was me – my hands ²  stretched out the sky, ³  I give orders to all the heavenly lights. ⁴ 

He spreads out the northern skies ¹  over empty space; ²  he suspends the earth on nothing. ³ 

I spread my hands out to you in prayer; ¹  my soul thirsts for you in a parched ²  land. ³ 

You will see a king in his splendor; ¹  you will see a wide land. ² 

And pointing ¹  toward his disciples he said, “Here ²  are my mother and my brothers!

He stretched out over the boy three times and called out to the Lord, “O Lord, my God, please let this boy’s breath return to him.”

¹ The Lord said to Moses, “Extend your hand toward heaven ²  so that there may be ³  darkness over the land of Egypt, a darkness so thick it can be felt.” ⁴
