As an example of suffering and patience, brothers and sisters, ¹  take the prophets who spoke in the Lord’s name.

by purity, by knowledge, by patience, by benevolence, by the Holy Spirit, ¹  by genuine ²  love,

So Isaiah replied, ¹  “Pay attention, ²  family ³  of David. ⁴  Do you consider it too insignificant to try the patience of men? Is that why you are also trying the patience of my God?

being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might for the display of ¹  all patience and steadfastness, joyfully

You, however, ¹  have followed my teaching, my ²  way of life, my purpose, my faith, my patience, my love, my endurance,

Through patience ¹  a ruler can be persuaded, ²  and a soft tongue ³  can break a bone. ⁴ 

with all humility and gentleness, ¹  with patience, bearing with ²  one another in love,

But the fruit of the Spirit ¹  is love, ²  joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ³ 

Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with a heart of mercy, ¹  kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience,

so that you may not be sluggish, ¹  but imitators of those who through faith and perseverance inherit the promises.

because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance.

The end of a matter ¹  is better than its beginning; likewise, patience ²  is better than pride. ³ 

But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with endurance. ¹ 

Older men are to be temperate, dignified, self-controlled, ¹  sound in faith, in love, and in endurance. ² 

to knowledge, self-control; to self-control, perseverance; ¹  to perseverance, godliness;

But here is why I was treated with mercy: so that ¹  in me as the worst, ²  Christ Jesus could demonstrate his utmost patience, as an example for those who are going to believe in him for eternal life.

Then the slave threw himself to the ground ¹  before him, saying, ²  ‘Be patient with me, and I will repay you everything.’

But what if God, willing to demonstrate his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience the objects ¹  of wrath ²  prepared for destruction? ³ 

Preach the message, ¹  be ready ²  whether it is convenient or not, ³  reprove, rebuke, exhort ⁴  with complete patience and instruction.

Then his fellow slave threw himself down and begged him, ¹  ‘Be patient with me, and I will repay you.’
