I will put a division ¹  between my people and your people. This sign will take place ²  tomorrow.”’”

I have told you now before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe. ¹ 

to do as much as your power ¹  and your plan ²  had decided beforehand ³  would happen.

At ¹  that time ²  a great disturbance ³  took place concerning the Way. ⁴ 

Pray that it may not be in winter.

I am telling you this now, ¹  before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe ²  that I am he. ³ 

Then ¹  there were flashes of lightning, roaring, ²  and crashes of thunder, and there was a tremendous earthquake – an earthquake unequaled since humanity ³  has been on the earth, so tremendous was that earthquake.

Then when the proconsul ¹  saw what had happened, he believed, ²  because he was greatly astounded ³  at the teaching about ⁴  the Lord.

So there was a division in the crowd ¹  because of Jesus. ² 

There was a famine in the land, subsequent to the earlier famine that occurred ¹  in the days of Abraham. ²  Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines at Gerar.

This food should be held in storage for the land in preparation for the seven years of famine that will occur throughout the land of Egypt. In this way the land will survive the famine.” ¹ 

When this sound ¹  occurred, a crowd gathered and was in confusion, ²  because each one heard them speaking in his own language.

Here is ¹  another ²  enigma ³  that occurs on earth: Sometimes there are righteous people who get what the wicked deserve, ⁴  and sometimes there are wicked people who get what the righteous deserve. ⁵  I said, “This also is an enigma.”

The seven years of abundance in the land of Egypt came to an end.

Surely no one knows the future, ¹  and no one can tell another person what will happen. ² 

But they said, “Not during the feast, so that there won’t be a riot among the people.” ¹ 

Blessed is anyone ¹  who takes no offense at me.”

They ¹  were talking to each other about all the things that had happened.

These things happened in Bethany ¹  across the Jordan River ²  where John was baptizing.

Another sharp division took place among the Jewish people ¹  because of these words.
