For my flesh is true ¹  food, and my blood is true ²  drink.

“If I testify about myself, my testimony is not true.

Then the high priest said, “Are these things true?” ¹ 

Now, O sovereign Lord, you are the true God! ¹  May your words prove to be true! ²  You have made this good promise to your servant! ³ 

But if the accusation is true and the young woman was not a virgin,

The one true God ¹  is my mighty refuge; ²  he removes ³  the obstacles in my way. ⁴ 

The one true God completely vindicates me; ¹  he makes nations submit to me. ² 

It is true, Lord, that the kings of Assyria have destroyed the nations and their lands.

For a long time ¹  Israel had no true God, or priest to instruct them, or law.

But even if it were ¹  true that I have erred, ²  my error ³  remains solely my concern!

The one true God ¹  gives ²  me strength; ³  he removes ⁴  the obstacles in my way. ⁵ 

The one true God ¹  completely vindicates me; ²  he makes nations submit to me. ³ 

until the time when his prediction ¹  came true. The Lord’s word ²  proved him right. ³ 

The true light, who gives light to everyone, ¹  was coming into the world. ² 

For in this instance the saying is true, ¹  ‘One sows and another reaps.’

So the Pharisees ¹  objected, ²  “You testify about yourself; your testimony is not true!” ³ 

It is written in your law that the testimony of two men is true. ¹ 

“I am the true vine ¹  and my Father is the gardener. ² 

The Jews also joined in the verbal attack, ¹  claiming ²  that these things were true.

through glory and dishonor, through slander and praise; regarded as impostors, ¹  and yet true;
