“Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!”

saying, ¹  “Don’t touch my anointed ones! Don’t harm my prophets!”

He will deliver you ¹  from six calamities; yes, in seven ²  no evil will touch you.

I ¹  have refused ²  to touch such things; ³  they are like loathsome food to me. ⁴ 

When worries threaten to overwhelm me, ¹  your soothing touch makes me happy. ² 

saying, ¹  “Don’t touch my chosen ²  ones! Don’t harm my prophets!”

hands, but cannot touch, feet, but cannot walk. They cannot even clear their throats. ¹ 

O Lord, make the sky sink ¹  and come down! ²  Touch the mountains and make them smolder! ³ 

For she kept saying to herself, ¹  “If only I touch his cloak, I will be healed.” ²

You must not eat from their meat and you must not touch their carcasses; ¹  they are unclean to you.

They begged him if ¹  they could only touch the edge of his cloak, and all who touched it were healed.

The ¹  whole crowd was trying to touch him, because power ²  was coming out from him and healing them all.

My father may touch me! Then he’ll think I’m mocking him ¹  and I’ll bring a curse on myself instead of a blessing.”

Then Isaac said to Jacob, “Come closer so I can touch you, ¹  my son, and know for certain if you really are my son Esau.” ² 

Samson said to the young man who held his hand, “Position me so I can touch the pillars that support the temple. ¹  Then I can lean on them.”

Leave! Leave! Get out of there! Don’t touch anything unclean! Get out of it! Stay pure, you who carry the Lord’s holy items! ¹ 

נ (Nun) They ¹  wander blindly ²  through the streets, defiled by the blood they shed, ³  while no one dares ⁴  to touch their garments.
