If, however, the scall spreads further ¹  on the skin after his purification,

he alone spreads out the heavens, and treads ¹  on the waves of the sea; ² 

He spreads out the northern skies ¹  over empty space; ²  he suspends the earth on nothing. ³ 

“Is it by your understanding that the hawk soars, ¹  and spreads its wings toward the south?

he plots evil with perverse thoughts ¹  in his heart, he spreads contention ²  at all times.

a false witness who pours out lies, ¹  and a person who spreads discord ²  among family members. ³ 

A perverse person ¹  spreads dissension, and a gossip separates the closest friends. ² 

The one ¹  who flatters ²  his neighbor spreads a net ³  for his steps. ⁴ 

He also said, “The kingdom of God is like someone who spreads seed on the ground.

Moab ¹  will spread out its hands in the middle of it, ²  just as a swimmer spreads his hands to swim; the Lord ³  will bring down Moab’s ⁴  pride as it spreads its hands. ⁵ 

He sends the snow that is white like wool; he spreads the frost that is white like ashes. ¹ 

The one who conceals hatred utters lies, ¹  and the one who spreads ²  slander ³  is certainly ⁴  a fool.

If someone spreads false teachings ¹  and does not agree with sound words (that is, those of our Lord Jesus Christ) and with the teaching that accords with godliness,

“If a fire breaks out and spreads ¹  to thorn bushes, ²  so that stacked grain or standing grain or the whole field is consumed, the one who started ³  the fire must surely make restitution.

He is the one who sits on the earth’s horizon; ¹  its inhabitants are like grasshoppers before him. ²  He is the one who stretches out the sky like a thin curtain, ³  and spreads it out ⁴  like a pitched tent. ⁵
